Hand devices and hand spirals: pipe cleaning without a machine
Not every blockage needs a machine. For smaller pipes and quick on-site jobs, we carry hand-guided devices: the hand cleaning device with an 8 mm spiral and 7.5 meters of working length is designed for pipes from 20 mm, the 10 mm version for pipes from 50 mm. For professional work by hand, the professional hand spirals are available: the 16 mm spiral for pipes from 50 to 75 mm in the kitchen, bathroom and utility room, and the 22 mm spiral for pipes from 100 mm, which comes as a 12-meter set and can be extended as required. In addition, two quick helpers for the sanitary area: the WC cleaning shaft, extendable up to 1.80 meters, and the suction-pressure cleaner, supplied complete with two adapters for WC, shower, bathtub, urinal and floor drains. You will find an overview of all manual devices among our hand spirals.
A11 Profi Automatic: compact electric with automatic feed
Between the hand device and the motor machine sits the A11 Profi Automatic. Instead of pushing the spiral by hand, the device handles the infinitely variable feed and return with clockwise and counterclockwise rotation. The maintenance-free electric motor delivers 900 watts, the steel drum with integrated magazine holds up to 10 meters of spiral, and depending on the configuration the devices clean pipes from 20 to 75 mm. The A11/8 works with an 8 mm spiral for pipes up to 50 mm, the A11/10 with a 10 mm spiral with core, and the A11/16 combines the 10 mm spiral with a 16 mm tool holder. All three come in a lockable case. Matching tool heads and replacement spirals are available with the A11 hand cleaner.
Drexl professional pipe cleaning machines in detail
The Mini Power 75 is our compact entry-level machine: with a 390-watt motor, approximately 400 revolutions per minute, and a weight of about 13 kg, it is easy to handle, portable, and ideal for plumbing and house connection applications. The Maxi Power 150 expands the range of applications to pipes from approximately 20 to 150 mm and can be equipped with 8, 16, and 22 mm spirals. This allows it to cover nearly all standard plumbing and sewer lines. For more intensive professional use, our rak models are available: the rak 40 has established itself as a universal workhorse for pipes from 40 to 150 mm, while the rak 41, with its patented clamping jaw system, 1.36 HP power, and spirals up to 32 mm in diameter, is a top professional tool for pipes ranging from 30 to 250 mm. At the very top of the Drexl family is the PowerFräse 600, a rod-type machine with 8 mm rods for particularly demanding special applications where classic spiral machines reach their limits.
ROWO pipe cleaning machines as an alternative
As a second product line, we carry the ROWO machines: the ROWO R550 with 440 watts and 583 rpm, the ROWO R600 with a powerful 620-watt induction motor, and the ROWO R650 as the top model with a 1,350-watt induction motor and 623 rpm. This means you will find the right solution in the Drexl Shop even if you prefer to use a different brand for operational reasons.
Spirals, tools, and accessories: the complete system
A machine is only as good as its spirals. We offer pipe cleaning spirals in 8, 10, 16, 22, and 32 mm with matching spiral tools for every task, from straight and club drills to cross-blade and fork-head tools, all the way to root cutters. We also carry the spiral protection hose and the IP44 personal protection adapter in our range, so you can work safely and cleanly.
Typical applications
Pipe cleaning devices are used wherever conventional methods such as plungers or chemical cleaners reach their limits. Typical applications include stubborn blockages in house connections, downspouts and floor drains, grease and limescale deposits in commercial kitchens, root ingrowth in underground pipes, and deposits in industrial pipes. Our typical users include plumbers and plumbing shops, sanitation companies, commercial kitchens, janitorial services, municipal utilities, civil engineering and renovation companies, as well as specialized pipe and sewer cleaning firms. With the right device, you can handle these tasks efficiently, without time-consuming disassembly and without causing lasting chemical damage to the pipes.
Clean, inspect, document: cameras and cleaning working together
If a pipe blocks repeatedly, the cause often lies not in the dirt but in the pipe itself: root ingress, cracks, displaced joints or a counter-gradient. After mechanical cleaning, it is therefore worth looking inside the line. With our sewer and pipe cameras, you carry out the pipe inspection yourself, identify the damage, and document the condition of the line for your customer, for example as part of a condition survey in accordance with DIN EN 13508-2. This way you clarify the cause alongside the cleaning. The matching spirals and tool heads for every task can be found in our pipe cleaning tools.
Repairable and durable: Made in Germany since 1986
Unlike many inexpensive imported devices, our Drexl machines are designed to be repaired rather than discarded. Wear parts such as clamping jaws, bearings, and drive components can be replaced, and we perform service work directly as the manufacturer in Bad Abbach. This saves you money in the long run, conserves resources, and prevents unnecessary electronic waste. This durability is no coincidence, but the result of professional manufacturing and meticulous quality control. Our pipe cleaning machines from our own production are TÜV-certified, and we offer a three-year warranty on them. Should any issues arise, your device is in good hands with us as the manufacturer.
Consulting, service, leasing, and financing
We do not just sell devices, we provide fair and expert advice on your selection, free of charge via our hotline and on an equal footing, serving our customers since 1986. We offer free shipping within Germany. For commercial customers, financing via leasing is also available upon request. As professional equipment, pipe cleaning machines are typically classified as fixed assets and depreciated over their normal useful life. Please consult your tax advisor regarding the specific classification.
Frequently asked questions about pipe cleaning devices
Do I need a machine, or is a hand device enough?
For shorter runs, smaller pipes and a normal degree of soiling, a hand cleaning device or a professional hand spiral is sufficient. As soon as you clean regularly, work on longer runs, or deal with solid deposits and root ingress, an electric pipe cleaning machine is the more economical choice. The intermediate step is the A11 Profi Automatic with automatic feed, and for anything beyond that, the motor machines starting with the Mini Power 75.
Which device is suitable for which pipe diameter?
For small plumbing lines from 20 mm, the hand devices or the A11/8 are sufficient. For small plumbing lines and house connections, the Mini Power 75 is the right choice. For all-around professional use from approximately 20 to 150 mm, the Maxi Power 150 is suitable; for pipes from 40 to 150 mm the rak 40; and for more demanding professional tasks up to 250 mm, the rak 41 with spirals up to 32 mm. For special applications or particularly stubborn deposits, the PowerFräse 600 with rod technology is used.
What does automatic feed mean on the A11?
The device pushes and pulls the spiral itself via an infinitely variable feed, with clockwise and counterclockwise rotation. You do not have to move the spiral in and out by hand, which makes the work faster and easier on the arms than with a purely manual hand device.
What is the difference between Mini Power, Maxi Power, and rak?
The Mini Power 75 is the handy entry-level machine for small pipes. The Maxi Power 150 expands the range modularly with 8, 16, and 22 mm spirals. The rak models are the professional-grade machines for continuous operation, featuring a patented clamping jaw system (rak 41), higher motor power, and designed for daily commercial use.
Spiral or high-pressure: which method is the right one?
Spiral machines are the first choice for hard blockages, root ingrowth, and solid deposits that must be broken up mechanically. High-pressure flushing machines excel at removing grease, sludge and sand, and at thoroughly flushing longer sections. That is why both methods have a permanent place in many professional workshops. We would be happy to advise you on your selection.
What spiral diameter do I need?
Rule of thumb: 8 mm for small plumbing lines, 10 to 16 mm for house connections and downspouts, 22 mm for larger drains, and 32 mm for demanding professional applications up to approximately 250 mm pipe diameter. The Maxi Power 150 uses 8, 16, and 22 mm spirals in a modular system, while the rak 41 supports spirals up to 32 mm.
Are Drexl machines suitable for continuous commercial use?
Yes, our machines from our own production are TÜV-certified, come with a three-year warranty, and are designed for continuous professional use. As the manufacturer in Bad Abbach, we handle repairs and maintenance directly, ensuring your machine remains operational for many years.
Can I claim a pipe cleaning device as a business asset for tax purposes?
In commercial use, pipe cleaning devices are typically depreciable as movable assets under fixed assets. The specific depreciation classification, useful life, and treatment in individual cases depend on your company's situation. Please consult your tax advisor. If needed, we also offer leasing to commercial customers upon request as an alternative to direct purchase.
