Pipe cleaning nozzles – the right nozzle for every task
The nozzle is the actual tool at the end of the high-pressure hose: it directs the water jet, accelerates it, and adapts it to the specific type of contamination. Depending on the task, you need a different nozzle, which is why we carry a comprehensive range of specialized models. The following overview shows you which nozzle type is intended for which application. Detailed specifications and designs can be found on the respective subcategory pages.
| Nozzle type | Main application |
|---|---|
| Standard nozzles | Routine flushing with backflushing for propulsion |
| Rotor front jet | Clearing blockages and de-icing with a rotating front jet |
| Rotor nozzles | Stubborn deposits, high-energy rotating jet |
| Root cutters | Root ingrowth in main and service lines |
| Pipe bed cleaners | Targeted cleaning of the pipe bed in larger sewers |
| Egg-shaped nozzles | Sewers with an egg-shaped profile |
| Tri-Jet Nozzles | Three rear-facing jets for uniform flushing |
| Quattro3Kant | Special nozzle with contoured design for demanding professional tasks |
| Radial Nozzles | High-volume flushing applications with radially distributed jets |
| Rohr-Wolf | Special nozzle for highly branched blockages |

High-Pressure Flushing Hoses – An Overview of Lengths, Diameters, and Pressure Ratings
The high-pressure flushing hose connects the device to the nozzle and is the component that determines the reach of your flushing system. We carry various lengths, diameters, and pressure ratings so you can choose the right hose for every application. Shorter hoses with smaller diameters offer higher peak pressures, while longer hoses with larger diameters provide maximum reach and higher flow rates.
| Hose | Diameter | Length | Max. Pressure | Typical Application |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pipe cleaning hose | 1/4" | 35 m | 210 bar | Plumbing, house connections |
| Pipe cleaning hose | 3/8" | 60 m | 260 bar | Professional use with peak pressure |
| Sewer flushing hose | 1/2" | 80 m | 160 bar | Long distances in sewers |
| Sewer flushing hose | 1/2" | 120 m | 160 bar | Maximum reach |
| Pipe cleaning hose with VA nozzle | – | 20 m | – | Pipes in home and garden areas |
Guide rollers for safe work in manholes
When flushing in a shaft, the high-pressure hose rubs against the shaft edge and wears out significantly faster if it is routed without protection. Guide rollers route the hose over a roller, protecting it from abrasion and ensuring a smooth feed. Drexl offers both adjustable guide rollers for the top of the shaft and variants for the bottom of the shaft in various sizes: with two rollers for standard use, with two aluminum rollers starting at DN 13, with three rollers starting at DN 19, as well as two variants with five rollers starting at DN 25 or DN 32 for more demanding professional applications. In addition, we carry swivel joints that prevent the hose from twisting under load.
Typical applications and combinations
The right combination of nozzle, hose, and deflection roller depends on the task. For routine flushing of a house connection, a standard nozzle with the 1/4" hose (35 m, 210 bar) is usually sufficient. For root ingrowth, switch to a root cutter; for stubborn grease and lime deposits, use a rotor nozzle. For long sewer runs, professionals use the 1/2" hose in 80- or 120-meter lengths with higher flow rates, supplemented by a suitable guide roller that guides the hose through the manhole and protects it from wear. This allows you to put together the right configuration for every type of contamination and every pipe size.
Advice from the manufacturer
When selecting nozzles and hoses, the devil is often in the details—such as the connection thread, the appropriate pressure class for the device, or the correct bore configuration for the specific contamination. We provide free, expert advice via our hotline, serving our customers since 1986. We offer free shipping within Germany.
Frequently Asked Questions About High-Pressure Flusher Accessories
Which nozzle is suitable for which type of contamination?
Standard nozzles are the right choice for routine flushing tasks. Rotor nozzles and root cutters are used for solid deposits and root ingrowth because the rotating jet delivers more energy to the pipe wall. Pipe-bottom cleaners clear the pipe bottom in larger channels, while egg-shaped nozzles are specifically designed for channels with an egg-shaped profile. For special cases, Tri-Jet, Quattro3Kant, radial nozzles, and the Pipe Wolf are available.
How do I choose the right high-pressure flushing hose?
Three factors are crucial: pressure class (must match the device), inner diameter (determines the possible flow rate), and length (determines the reach). 1/4“ hoses are suitable for smaller high-pressure plumbing applications, 3/8” for demanding professional flushing with peak pressure, and 1/2" for long distances in pipes with high water flow rates.
What connection sizes are available?
Our hoses and nozzles are available in standard professional connection sizes: 1/4“, 3/8”, and 1/2". Female threads (FT) and male threads (MT) must match. If you are unsure about the connection, we will advise you free of charge.
Why do I need a guide roller?
In professional use, the manhole edge is the most common point of wear for high-pressure hoses. A deflection roller guides the hose smoothly over a roller instead of dragging it across the sharp shaft edge. This protects the hose from abrasion, significantly extends its service life, and also ensures a smooth feed during insertion.
How long does a pipe cleaning nozzle last?
Service life depends heavily on the application. With normal use and proper cleaning, professional nozzles made of hardened stainless steel last many thousands of operating hours. Wear occurs primarily at the jet holes, as these expand over time due to the dirt-laden water. If you notice a significant drop in pressure or a noticeable loss of jet force, you should replace the nozzle.
Are the accessories also compatible with high-pressure washers from other manufacturers?
Generally yes, provided the pressure class and connection thread match. Pay attention to your device’s maximum pressure rating and connection size. If in doubt, we’ll advise you free of charge and check compatibility for you.
